Artist statement

My works are mosaics of art and culture from my country, which is a variety of arts, cultures and languages, is a synthesis between east and west. Which is my art education background in Germany, at FH-Cologne Art Academy, majoring in glass paintings and textile art-tapestry, therefore my works is a synthesis of mosaic and textile art. A particular theme in my work is people, from the past until now, with various technique in my works. I use mixed medium, acrylic colors, collages such as jute, rope, modeling paste and transparent paper. It looks like 3-dimensional, because I like cubism, apart from painting I also like to make sculptures. The subjects in my works are mostly about the mosaic of my life, the people around my life, I work with various phases, like circulation of my life.

ANTONIUS KHO

Born 1958 in Klaten, Java, Indonesia.

Education :

1977 -First study under the guidance of artist Barli, Bandung, Indonesia.

1981/82 - Academy  of Fine Art, Bandung, Indonesia.

1985/91 - Academy of Fine Art – FH Cologne, Cologne, Germany, mayoring in glass painting                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   & in textile arts, Master school of art  by Prof. Schaffmeister & M.Brinkhaus.

Awards:

1998- 1 st Prize “Mask in Venice”, Art Addiction Annual in Venice 1998, Gold Masks

          “Diploma of Excellence”, Palazzo Correr, Venezia, Italy.

1989- 1 st Prize at the competition “Malen auf Liegestuehlen”, Olivandenhof, Cologne, Germany.

Since 2004- Founder of Wina Gallery  & Foundation, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.

Save our new generation

Covid 19, We never know about the existence of this virus, what it looks like, when it will come,

because we can't see it, let alone feel it.  Therefore we must always be vigilant,

follow the rules, - the right health rules, don't let our guard down, because this virus is

very dangerous. Therefore we have to save our new generation,

so that they can avoid this Covid 19 pandemic.
