The earth is the mother of all beings. It is unique and selflessly offers us her all. We, human beings, have the responsibility 

and obligation to cherish it and prevent it from being polluted or destroyed. It's necessary to keep it clean and green for our survival. 

Without it, we have no place to live and cannot survive. We should and must protect it, just like caring our families.

Artist Biography

Michael Lam loves the artistic process of Single Stroke Painting. It is always special and challenging, even after so many years of practice. I cannot repaint, add, or subtract any stroke to perfect particular parts of the painting. Everything must be right the very first time. This means that I have to understand the properties of paper, ink and brush well before starting, and the application of pressure and speed is significant. Single Stroke Painting is extremely powerful and beautiful, drawing attention to itself. I hope my viewers can connect with the emotion contained in each one.

My work has been described as 'New York Line' because the technique I use for drawing lines in my paintings is such a strong one. I have always found this to be very encouraging, motivating me to create more artwork.

I believe the guidance in art could be the leading force of our contemporary living.

My inspiration – and my goal – is the elevation of the human spirit to a higher plane of awareness, sensation and actualization.
