【Well-known Artist-Romania】Maria Jarda

Artist Statement

Art has the role of saving the planet, because the one who makes it saves his soul by bringing beauty into the souls of others.  My painting "boats by the sea" represents the silence, but also the unknown depth of the sea.  The painting resembles the sea: looking, it shows you its peace and beauty, to the one who looks at it.  Like a painting, the sea is not what we see on the surface, but what is inside it: beauty, depth, sadness, truth.  The sea does not save the world, but is part of it. Water is part of saving the planet

CRITICS:

●    „That Maria Jarda has managed to combine the natural gift of knowing how to paint with a careful and in-depth study, can be understood not only from the reference to impressionism but above all from her expressionist evolution that transpires from the latest works of Monet, in particular from those well known of the cathedrals, which lead Mary to touch the Expressionist current.  Not only what excites through the eye is brought to canvas, but the emotions that the artist feels when seeing that landscape.

From her pictorial works we can deduce a great technical ability, where however the poetic motive prevails in a significant way ».  "To be conquered by one of her works" is like immersing yourself daily in places where the landscape prevails over human events.  Nothing better than admiring a painting of her to feel our soul becoming one with the soul of the places she has seen and transported with skill on canvas ".

With her works she expresses her own inner visions, her own ideological conceptions, her own ideas about nature and life, she manages to make the invisible visible.

 Nature stimulates the imagination

to the representation but to improve the pictorial quality of this it is necessary to add the soul of the landscape.

And this is Mary's great challenge, to put on canvas what only through the eyes could not be seen: the soul of the places.

Landscapes that involve her emotionally, that capture her attention not only for the sheer beauty that the eyes perceive, but because in that instant the union between the artist's feeling and the magic of which certain places are enveloped becomes concrete. .

Nature and humanity represented through trees, meadows, flowers, flee and chase each other, and the images we are able to grasp give us a subtle sense of continuity, as if to presage that before and after the canvas there is some other.

A combination of what nature created and what man built, both of which are part of a single emotional moment aimed at stopping an aesthetic moment that excites and involves the viewer. "

 Prof. Dr. Giorgio Gregorio Grasso
